Henry’s team helps government and commercial clients design, improve and harness market-based frameworks to deliver climate solutions.
He has 19 years’ commercial and government expertise and experience in the use of private and public financing mechanisms to accelerate adoption of clean technologies and practices. This includes specialising in the use of debt, equity and non-dilutive finance mechanism design for a range sustainability issues for Government and commercial clients at Common Capital since 2013 and in previous roles in the NSW Government.
Prior to co-founding Common Capital, Henry Government experience included managing the Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy Policy Branch of the NSW Office of Environment and Heritage, serving as Policy Advisor to the NSW Minister for Environment and Climate Change, and leading of a range of operational regulatory reform projects for the NSW Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) executive including pollution control, radiation management, and private native forestry, and in the Neighbourhood Renewal Unit working on social exclusion policy for the United Kingdom Government. He also brings a breadth of industry experience from is time as a management consultant at IBM, assisting on a range of operational strategy issues form clients including Westpac Bank, Bank of New Zealand, ING Life Insurance, Optus, Orica, and OneSteel.

Matthew’s team helps our government, utility and industry clients to measure, verify and forecast the impacts, public and benefits of market interventions drawing on his draw extensive experience and our suite of integrated modelling tools and datasets.
Prior to co-founding Common Capital, Matthew worked as Director Water and Energy Programs for the NSW Office of Environment. There he was responsible for the implementation and evaluation $350m per annum in grant, rebate and disclosure programs to support industrial, commercial and residential clean technology innovation.
Matthew started his career as a project engineer in BHP’s steel mills and at Connell Mott MacDonald before joining the renowned early hotbed for clean technology innovation: the Sustainable Energy Development Authority. At SEDA he was the chief architect for the National Australian Built Environment Rating System (NABERS) to rate the carbon and energy performance of commercial buildings. Under his management, the now mandatory, NABERS was voluntarily adopted to cover more than 60% of national commercial floor space, helping owners of high performing buildings capture a value premium in the formal valuations of their portfolios and transform the efficiency of the high-end commercial property sector.

Alana’s team helps commercial, research and government clients understand the sources of value and risk and develop strategies to capitalise on rapidly changing international climate regulatory, market and technology contexts.
She brings a deep understanding of the commercial implications of the net zero, industry insights and rigours research and analytical methodologies. She draws from her work with Common Capital and eight year’s prior international experience in banking and corporate consulting designing and delivering strategic programs. Alana has advised clients across Australia, Europe and Asia in multiple industries including energy, agribusiness, financial services, automotive and health.
Prior to Common Capital, Alana’s worked at Deloitte, Commonwealth Bank of Australia, and Transport NSW.
